CINCINNATI - The deal finally was in place, Carlos Beltran wasshipped off to the San Francisco Giants after months ofspeculation, and Sandy Alderson could put down the phone and take abreath. So for a moment, he put it behind him and focused on thepresent: He watched the Mets shrug off the trade and thetalk of giving up on the season with a 10-9 win over the Reds tocomplete a four-game sweep at Great American Ball Park. The Beltran deal was inevitable, but just one of the first stepsin Alderson's attempts to reshape the organization. Much bigger andmore important tasks remain ahead.
