ANAHEIM, Calif. - Since San Francisco Giants catcher BusterPosey lost his season to a collision at home plate, there has beena lot of talk about protecting catchers. Oakland A's generalmanager Billy Beane went so far as to tell Kurt Suzuki to simplyavoid such collisions. Twins outfielder Denard Span, wholost two months to a concussion suffered in a home-plate collisionwith Kansas City catcher Brayan Pena, has a different take. Spansaid he went out of his way not to knock down Pena when he couldhave and paid the price himself.
