REVIVAL OF GIANTS

Kirk Gibson said before Friday night's game that his ArizonaDiamondbacks aren't taking anything for granted and that he stillconsiders the Giants ''a scary team." It was just one small step, but if nothing else, the Giants revived a little fear factorto the NL West race with a 6-2 victory that offered more energy andenthusiasm at AT&T Park than has seen in at least a month. The Giants not only picked an opportunetime to win their first series opener since July 18, they sloweddown an Arizona team that steamed into San Francisco with anine-game winning streak and a six-game division lead.
