--RHP Santiago Casilla, who has succeeded as closer in the wake of RHP Brian Wilson's season-ending elbow injury, exited with a right knee injury. Casilla gave up Alfonso Soriano's three-run homer and apparently hurt his knee fielding Darwin Barney's infield hit. LHP Javier Lopez replaced Casilla and finished the game. LHP Madison Bumgarner took a shutout bid into the ninth before requiring help.--3B Pablo Sandoval could begin his minor league rehab assignment by the end of the weekend, manager Bruce Bochy said. He had the hamate removed from his left wrist in early May, and he began taking outdoor batting practice this week. He has been hitting left-handed fine, but he's not near game shape from the right side.--RHP Sergio Romo appears to have healed from his right knee injury. Before the game, he was able to do baseball-activity required by pitchers, including covering first base and grounders. Romo, a setup man, was unavailable to pitch Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.--LF Melky Cabrera tripled and singled in his first game in June after collecting 51 hits in May, most in San Francisco history for May and matching Randy Winn's record (September 2005) for most hits in any month....
