After another game-ending celebration at home plate, the Washington Nationals are on the verge of the longest winning streak in franchise history. Washington tries to make it 11 in a row Friday night when it opens a three-game home series against the San Francisco Giants. Denard Span scored from second on a throwing error in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Nationals beat Arizona 1-0 on Thursday. Five of Washington's last six victories have come in walkoff fashion, the first such stretch by any team since Houston did it in 1986.
