Washington manager Matt Williams and starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann both had a hard time trying to figure out how San Francisco's Hunter Pence hit a two-run homer on a pitch up in his eyes in the first inning Saturday. Zimmermann said, "Tip your cap. Even though Zimmermann trailed 2-0 after the first two batters, he did not allow a run the rest of the way as right fielder Jayson Werth had two hits and two RBIs and center fielder Denard Span had two hits, two runs and an RBI in the 6-2 win over the Giants. Zimmermann (9-5), despite a rocky start, allowed two runs and struck out eight in eight innings as he remained unbeaten in his last seven outings.
