Juan Lagares hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the fourth inning Tuesday night and right-hander Dillon Gee tossed 6 2/3 solid innings to snap a seven-start winless streak as the New York Mets edged the Atlanta Braves 3-2 at Citi Field. The Mets (62-70) won despite the absence of their No. 2 and No. 3 hitters, second baseman Daniel Murphy and third baseman David Wright. The Braves (68-64) lost their third straight and fell a game behind San Francisco in the race for the National League's second wild card, pending the Giants' game against Colorado. Lagares, the Mets' center fielder, and catcher Travis d'Arnaud each had two hits for the Mets, and shortstop Ruben Tejada had an RBI single in the second inning.
