When left-hander Jorge De La Rosa jammed his pitching thumb while batting in the sixth inning of a scoreless game Tuesday night, Colorado Rockies manager Walt Weiss could tell his ace wanted to keep pitching. Weiss wasn't about to deny a guy who basically matched Giants lefty Madison Bumgarner pitch for pitch, even while the San Francisco All-Star was bidding for a perfect game. Weiss had so much confidence in De La Rosa's ability to pitch through the injury, he didn't even have a reliever warming up in the bullpen. De La Rosa issued just his second walk of the game to Giants right fielder Hunter Pence to start the sixth.
