Jake Peavy's bid for a no-hitter was broken up on a one-out single in the eighth inning by Milwaukee's Mark Reynolds against the San Francisco Giants. Reynolds sent a clean, opposite-field single to right field on Peavy's 107th pitch Saturday night. It was the only hit off Peavy, who was lifted after 7 2-3 innings with the Giants ahead 3-0. It was the second time in five days that a San Francisco pitcher carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning.
