San Francisco Giants fans for the first time on Tuesday night were able to use Clear Cards to avoid long lines at AT&T Park.Clear Cards are currently being used at airports so travelers can move quickly through security. For now, the Clear Card fast-entrance into the ball park is only available at the center field entrance. Giants officials said the service could expand as early as the postseason."That was really fast," said Honoris Ocasio after using her Clear Card to enter the ballpark prior to the Giants match up against the Arizona Diamondbacks.Ocasio, a Redwood City resident, was the first fan to use a Clear Card to enter AT&T Park. It took her 30 seconds, including the bag search, to gain entry into the ball park."I had to wait 20 minutes or longer sometimes," Ocasio said. "This is really good."Giants officials said the Marina Gate in center field will be the only Clear Card entrance at AT&T Park through the end of the regular season.Once it is up at all gates, Clear Card scanners will handle about 3,000 fans per game, which can ease the load at other gates. The price of a Clear Card is about $175 a year.Photo Credit: NBC Bay Area
