The Los Angeles Dodgers took a step back in their bid to win the NL West after failing to come up with the timely hits that had keyed their winning streak and dominance against the Colorado Rockies. Los Angeles (86-65) built a four-game division lead by outscoring its opponents 32-5 during a three-game winning streak that included two victories over second-place San Francisco.
