It turns out the longest playoff game in MLB history may have led to the longest delay in the history of all weddings. A couple made up of two die-hard San Francisco Giants fans put their wedding festivities on pause Saturday evening, refusing to proceed with the traditional cutting of the cake until Game 2 of the NLDS between Giants and the Washington Nationals finally reached its conclusion. Obviously, the latter part couldn't have been planned, but that's how it worked out. The couple exchanged nuptials as planned. However, the Giants staged a two-out ninth-inning rally just as they were preparing to move forward with many of the usual post-wedding activities. Fully aware of what was going on in Washington, the happy couple, for better or worse, made the decision to delay the cake-cutting until the game ended.
