SAN FRANCISCO — With the Giants making a run at another National League title, October baseball is all the rage here. Fans are skipping work for day games. Black-and-orange T-shirts are being hawked all over the place. And parking-garage owners are making out like bandits. Parking rates at private garages near AT&T Park skyrocketed Tuesday, as the city prepared for matinee baseball with the Giants hosting the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series . The 1 p.m. local start time made it so average Joes and Janes coming to work Tuesday morning had to pay postseason prices. Opportunistic garages owners upped their daily rates to as much as $100, leaving San Franciscans understandably frustrated. Usual gameday rates in the area are $25-$30. Parking lots in SOMA are $100 today. Thanks, @SFGiants . Also, all lot owners down here are jerks. pic.twitter.com/X0A0c7BTms — KramerrRRWEREWOLF!
