The Giants pitcher proudly donated the jersey he wore for his victory over the Detroit Tigers in Game 3 of the 2012 World Series to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Each October, representatives from baseball's shrine collect as many items from that season's World Series to display for the next year. A bit of a baseball historian, Vogelsong said his jersey's inclusion in the 2012 memorabilia collection prompted he, his wife and son to make a 4 1/2-hour trek to upstate New York from their offseason home in January 2013. Prior to their trip, Vogelsong hadn't visited the Hall of Fame since he and his parents went when he was 13. "My parents took me there on a summer vacation and I was infected bad," Vogelsong said. "I still have all the pictures from when we were there and not just seeing my jersey, but going back and seeing everything again, it really makes you understand how great this game is."
