Chicago Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks gave up his first runs this spring after extending his scoreless streak to 12 innings in an 8-5 win over the San Francisco Giants on Monday. Hendricks, who went 7-2 with a 2.46 ERA as a rookie, didn't allow a run in his first two exhibition outings. He threw five shutout innings against the Giants before they scored five times in the sixth. Hendricks went 5 1-3 innings, allowing seven hits with a walk and striking out five.
