Madison Bumgarner showcased an improved form in back-to-back starts against one of the NL's leading teams, and his latest outing was his finest of the season. The San Francisco left-hander will try to build on that performance against the visiting San Diego Padres, who like the Giants will seek a season-high fourth consecutive victory Monday night. Bumgarner was 1-1 with a 5.29 ERA in his first three starts, then posted a 1.88 mark in his two against the Los Angeles Dodgers. "He was as good as I've seen him this year," catcher Buster Posey said.
