Basketball fans will go to lots of lengths to stop the other team from making free throws, and most of it is probably forgotten by opponents (if it was ever noticed in the first place). But in the final minutes of regulation between Marquette and Providence on Wednesday night, with Providence's Kris Dunn at the charity stripe, Marquette student Jamey Schilling yelled out " I will literally give you $10 if you miss this shot. " Dunn missed one of two, and Marquette wound up winning in double overtime. So the next day, Schilling sat down and wrote a check to Providence athletics and a letter explaining himself, and documented it all with a tweet that said, "The check's in the mail." Now we just have to wait to see waht Providence does when it arrives. On top of being one of baseball's most iconic stadiums, Fenway Park's been a football field, a soccer field, and a hockey rink.
