It’s a lovefest as Giants, Dodgers renew rivalry

San Francisco's Jeff Samardzija gets his first taste of the Giants-Dodgers rivalry by striking out Carl Crawford, Joc Pederson and Yasiel Puig in the first inning, but what the heck was all the hugging about? Blame new Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, a former Giant, for being so darn likable. Roberts gave Giants manager Bruce Bochy a hug on the field before the first pitch. That embrace set off a weird wave of peace, love and understanding between the two rivals.
