Giants Among Most Valuable MLB Teams: Forbes

For the third-straight year, the Giants have been named one of the most valuable franchises in Major League Baseball, according to Forbes.With a $2.25 billion valuation, San Francisco came in fourth, trailing only the Boston Red Sox ($3.4 billion), Los Angeles Dodgers ($2.5 billion) and New York Yankees ($2.3 billion) for the second year in a row. The franchise's most impressive annual increase -- an 100 percent jump from $500 million to $1 billion -- came between the 2014 and 2015 seasons, after the team won its third World Series title in five years.Forbes also calculated the 2015 revenue and operating income for every MLB franchise. No Injuries After Plane Makes Emergency Landing The Giants' 2015 revenue ($409 million) came in third behind the Dodgers ($438 million) and Yankees ($516 million), while their operating income -- earnings before interest and tax -- was the highest in the league at $73 million.Photo Credit: Josh Keppel
