As a result, Posey's bat went soaring through the air, only to be captured and held about 20 feet up the netting right near the Giants home dugout. As you can plainly see, it got wedged in there pretty good. The game certainly couldn't continue with a bat just hanging around. That meant the AT&T Park maintenance crew had to spring into action to save the day and save Posey's bat.
