Three-time World Series champion third baseman Pablo Sandoval was dropped Friday by the Boston Red Sox, with the Major League Baseball club opting to part ways with the 30-year-old Venezuelan slugger. The Red Sox reactivated Sandoval after 10 days on the disabled list with a left inner ear infection before placing him on waivers, with the team all but certain to release him. Sandoval, a two-time All-Star, was signed as a free agent after the 2014 campaign following seven seasons with the San Francisco Giants, helping them claim the crown in 2010, 2012 and 2014.
