The Tampa Bay Rays have taken a hacksaw to their roster and their payroll this offseason and have hacked away particularly aggressively over the past several days. Earlier this offseason they dealt face-of-the-franchise Evan Longoria to the San Francisco Giants. Longoria is not the player he once was.
