Stephen Vogt capped an eight-run eighth inning with a three-run home run Saturday night as the visiting San Francisco Giants rallied from behind to beat the Oakland Athletics 10-5 in the opener of a two-game series. Kevin Pillar broke a 4-4 tie with a two-run double, one of seven hits the Giants pieced together against five A's relievers in the eighth, helping San Francisco end a four-game losing skid and Oakland's three-game winning streak. After the A's had scored twice against the San Francisco bullpen in the bottom of the seventh to go up 4-2, Buster Posey ignited the game-swinging rally with a one-out single off former teammate Yusmeiro Petit (3-3).
