Only two coaches on Giants manager Gabe Kapler's new staff ever played in the majors. The new director of hitting never faced a fastball from a Major League, Minor League or even a varsity college pitcher. With the exception of third-base coach Ron Wotus, the only hold-over from Bruce Bochy's staff, every coach is in his 30s or younger.
