Giants Rumors

horrible.

how could he make this deal. i thought alderson was off limits...

what a joke. sanchez isnt even good.
Im still praying this is inaccurate...
Press conference on KNBR right now...
Man i just hope this trade doesn't come back and bite us in the end. I wish Alderson the best.
I must be the only one that doesn't have a problem with this trade. My only reservation is the knee. How long before he plays and how soon is he back at full strength. But the chance for a proven .300 hitter in the top of the lineup batting ahead of Pandoval should do us a world of good.
Well Freddy is saying all the right things. Excited to see him on the field.

I'm more with you Ron. Of course it's hard to give up prospects, but a career .300 hitter/all-star is gonna be pricey. I'm ready to get behind the deal and make a run at the playoffs.

A prospect of Alderson's caliber and hype could have gotten us a legit power hitter or another elite pitcher.

How on earth can you not have a problem with this trade. Have you not even heard of "you can never have enough pitching???" SO.. what happens if Bumgarner throws his arm out. Or.. Wheeler isnt as great as made out to be? All of a sudden our great pitching future doesnt look so good. Not only that.. there is no guarantee that Lincy and Cain will sign long term deals.

I seriously doubt that Freddy Sanchez puts this team over the top and in the playoffs. All this trade is about is Sabean trying to save his fas ass this year and not giving a **** about the future. I promise you that Pittsburgh is just laughing so hard right now at the steal they just got.

So.. we traded our future for a punch and judy 2b who really has had 1 great year. UNREAL. Philly just got Cliff Lee for garbage and you think this is a good trade?

Except when they asked him what he was going to bring to the team and he kind of stammered something about "not saying he'll turn everthing around, but he'll play hard, 100% effort 100% of the time." blah blah blah etc. etc.

As I said to many a girl after being strung along for 2 weeks without making headway.

PUT OUT OR GET OUT!

The problem is He is a Prospect. Who knows how he will turn out. I hope the kid does well but I don't feel giving up a guy who is going to play every 5 days for a guy who will play every day is a bad deal.

On top of that Sanchez has hit above .290 in 4 of the last 5 years including winning the batting title in 3 years ago. Working with Lansford will help him to regain his stroke. Playing in SF will allow him to use triples alley to his benefit. I don't care if he hits a home run as long as he is on base. He is a career .300 hitter and a decent fielder. He will hit .040 to .050 points higher than any second basemen we have had this year which should translate into extra runs.

Everyone here is enamored with the long ball. I like them too but everyone that has been mentioned as potential power bats for this team is a sub .250 hitter with more potential to strike out twice to every homer that he would hit.

i definitely don't like the trade but the same can be said about alderson and what happens if he doesn't pan out. We just have to wait it out and today the pirates are the winners but down the road hopefully we are.

0.12.

Sanchez (.296), Uribe (.284)

Freddy Sanchez has only four more RBI's than Travis Isikawa in 135 fewer at bats.

He's a very average player statistically. The only reason he makes All-Star teams is because he played for the Pirates.

LOL Well then lets trade Lincecum for Chipper Jones. Chipper plays every day, has bad knees, and you just said you dont feel bad about giving up a guy who plays every 5 days for a guy who plays every day. UNREAL.

Horrible trade. HORRIBLE. Sanchez has had 1 really good year and gets $8 million next year. Alderson would have been under the Giants control for several years and had potential to be a very solid starter. He is 20 years old and has a great arm. I'm sorry.. trading for a 30 year old with a bad knee and no power makes no sense.
